Our world is increasingly driven by data, and the data we collect has the potential to improve decision-making across all aspects of society - anything from treating diseases to improving logistics processes or traffic flows. TU Delft works to ensure that machine learning has a positive impact on quality of life for everyone. If we want to impact real-world systems with machine learning techniques, we need to address existing challenges such as limited access to data, poor quality or incomplete data, subjectivity, and data complexity - and we need to know the fundamental limits to what we can learn from data.
