Public and private services are increasingly automated, programmable and intelligent. TU Delft has taken up the big challenge of making Artificial Intelligence fair, equitable and beneficial to the whole of society - while also making sure the Dutch industry remains a competitive global player. Using AI for Peace, Justice & Security means striking the right balance between new and optimised functions. We also need to protect citizens and our society's institutional foundations against AI-related vulnerabilities and dependencies. Questions on how to apply AI methods span fields such as cyber security, the criminal justice chain and legal tech, and regulatory questions too - for example around the need for transparency.
