TU Delft - AI for Port & Maritime

Digitalisation is rapidly changing the port and maritime sector, and Artificial Intelligence plays a crucial role in making ports future-proof. Far more data is now available, and many AI technologies have proven themselves to be valuable over the past decade. TU Delft is looking for answers to key questions. For example, how can we make sure that autonomously navigated ships are safe, economical, and legal? How can we design multi-agent technologies, and optimise complex ecosystems such as the Rotterdam Port industrial complex? And what are the ethical, legal, and social preconditions for developing and applying AI in the port and maritime domain? We develop data-driven models and apply Artificial Intelligence to optimise port logistics, production and planning processes - and to create a safe and dynamic maritime ecosystem.
