Dr. Olya Kadina on the ethical implications of AI during OAY

“The age of AI is not just about promises of technological progress. It is about how our society and our planet get profoundly transformed through AI’s development and use.” Dr. Olya Kadina, Assistant Professor in the Ethics and Philosophy of Technology. AI is a powerful tool. It can help us design better windfarms, or unravel the intricate dance of human behaviour in our urban environment. It can change how we research disease or diagnose and treat illness. The list goes on. However, along with the rapid advent of AI come concerns about social and ethical implications. That is why at TU Delft, we work on the design and engineering of human-centred AI systems, where we bring together societal needs and AI capabilities.
