Mechanical forces play a crucial role in our bodies, influencing cellular decisions such as migration and specialization. Abnormal mechanical conditions can lead to serious diseases such as cancer and fibrosis. It has only recently come to light that mechanical forces play such an essential role in disease processes. Therefore, this newfound knowledge is not currently utilized in the treatment of diseases like cancer and fibrosis. Can this approach be altered?
