TU Delft student Faye explores geothermal activities in Alsace using a thermal drone.
In this video you see TU Delft's MSc student Faye. For her studies in Earth, Climate and Technology, see traveled to the Alsace region in France, one of Europe's most geothermally active areas. Here, she set out a thermal drone mission to measure thermal anomalies on the ground surface, which could be indicative of geothermal activities. "If we can detect surface temperature anomalies in our drone-derived data, then this approach could be used all over the world in other regions to see if those locations could also be used for creating geothermal reservoirs".
